Every sweep comes with a certificate of completion for home insurance purposes.
Soot cloths and a special HEPA filtered vacuum are used to prevent the escape of soot into your home.
A CCTV inspection is then carried out to check the condition of the fliue or liner.
I then carry out the sweep, using either a Rotary Power or traditional method.
I then clean your fireplace, removing all soot/debris.
Finally, I smoke test the chimney and issue you with a certificate of completion for home insurance purposes.
Unless you have taken steps to protect your flue, in the form of a cowl, there is a very real risk that birds will nest in your chimney flue.
This is not only a nuisance, but it can compromise your flue.
It can cause damp problems, block smoke and fumes from escaping, and even cause a fire.

Types of fuel recommended
Kiln dried/seasoned hard wood logs
Hardwoods such as maple, oak, ash, birch and most fruit trees are the best burning woods. They will give you a hotter, longer burning time. Seasoned wood is essential to comply with regulations. This means a moisture content of less than 20%. It is important to note that hardwood can take longer to ignite, so the use of softwood kindling and firelighters are recommended.
Smokeless Coal and Ecoal
If you're wondering which smokeless fuel is best to use for your multi fuel stove, you should try anthracite or hard coal. It is characterised by high carbon content and several impurities, and it produces less dirt, creosote, pollutants, and smoke when burnt making it clean-burning and efficient. Brazier and Homefire are among the most popular and can be found online and in hardware stores. Ecoal is one of the most sustainable and environmentally-friendly fuel sources available. It produces less smoke, CO2, and more heat than both coal and wood.
Heat Logs
Heat logs are manufactured high-density wood by-product logs, usually cylindrical in shape. They're generally made from various wood waste, such as softwood and hardwood sawdust, straw, paper, and almost anything that burns. They are quick lighting and provide good heat, but aren't long burners!
